Table Captains & Volunteers

Table Captains

Table Captains are the heart of the National Dinner’s attendance. Each Table Captain strives to fill a table of 12, creating their own guest list and spending an inspirational evening surrounded with friends and family. As a "thank you" for helping to support the drive for equality, Table Captains are listed in Dinner advertisements, invitations and program books.

It's easy! You can register as a table captain either online or by phone.

Online

At Box Office Tickets (scroll to find the National Dinner, events are listed by date), in Step 1 of 4 (“Your Information”), enter your name as a Table Captain.

By Phone

Call (800) 494-8497. When purchasing your tickets through Box Office Tickets, ask to be designated as a Table Captain.

To Sit With A Registered Table Captain

If you are invited to sit with a registered Table Captain, you should choose his/her name from the Table Captain pulldown menu in the "check out" section of Box Office Tickets when you are purchasing your own tickets for the National Dinner. You can only reserve your seat by purchasing a ticket for the Dinner and the Table Captain must have registered his/her name prior to your purchase

Volunteers

The enthusiastic and indomitable spirit of HRC volunteers is an essential aspect of the organization’s success and it continues a long tradition of GLBT activism. The National Dinner is planned each year by HRC staff and an all-volunteer National Dinner Committee. The Dinner Committee is led this year by Co-Chairs, Tucker Gallagher and Anna Prow.

Volunteer Opportunities

Depending on your area of interest or background, there are many volunteer opportunities open each year on the National Dinner Committee and its subcommittees. Each subcommittee is led by a team of co-chairs and works to develop key aspects of the Dinner.

Volunteer Sub-Committee

HRC owes much of its event success to its volunteer force. The Volunteer Sub-Committee provides a pool of volunteers for pre-Dinner events and for the night of the Dinner itself. Volunteers on this sub-committee have the opportunity to attend the Dinner and assist with ushering, greeting, assembling gift bags and the Silent Auction.

Several volunteers opportunities are available the weekend of the National Dinner, if you are interested in helping out CLICK HERE for more information and to sign up!

The 2009 Co-Chairs are Bill Castellani and Adam Lukoskie.

Table Captain and Outreach Sub-Committee

The foundation of the Dinner's attendance is built around table captains who commit to filling tables of 12. The Table Captain Sub-Committee hosts events focused on securing table captains, developing their table attendance and acknowledging their commitment.

The 2009 Co-Chairs are Wendy Ramsey and David Sprindzunas.

Local Corporate Donor Sub-Committee

The success of each National Dinner is greatly attributable to the kind sponsorship of corporate America. The Local Corporate Donor Sub-Committee reaches out to the corporate community along with HRC staff to secure their support.

The 2009 Chair is Britni Jackson.

Program Book Sub-Committee

The National Dinner Program Book chronicles the night's events and gives friends, local businesses, and corporations the opportunity to support the Dinner. The Program Sub-Committee solicits ads and helps to design the book.

The 2009 Co-Chairs are Alex Ernst and Kim Sawyer.

Silent Auction Sub-Committee

For the competitive among us, the Silent Auction is an exciting night-of part of Dinner festivities that offers everything from vacations to furniture. The Silent Auction Sub-Committee networks locally and nationally to secure items for the auction.

The 2009 Co-Chairs are Annette Murphy and Geoff Werner.Raffle Sub-Committee

Each year, the National Dinner Raffle provides Dinner attendees and the broader community the opportunity to win an automobile. The Raffle Sub-Committee organizes and strategizes ticket sales.
